Delaware Outreach

Dec 20th - Scientific Program Manager Sai Aditya Pradeep continued the AIM Center Outreach program to Newark Charter Senior High School.

 Large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM)

Dec 18th: Dr. Gang Li, with the assistance of Dr. Srikanth Pilla, conducted real-time measurements of electricity usage for a type of large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) known as big area additive manufacturing (BAAM). (Link)

Laser Ultrasonic Testing (LUT)

Dec 1st: Dr. Srikanth Pilla, with the help of Dr. Gang Li and Dr. Pourboghrat, discuss the use of convergent laser beam shapes to improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in Laser Ultrasonic Testing (LUT) of composite materials. (Link)

Deep reinforcement learning for Metamaterials

Oct 29th - Gang Li et al.  published a Thrust I led paper with Thrust III PI Srikanth Pilla on Deep reinforcement learning for Metamaterials (Link)

Oct 20th - Minglei Lu (PhD student) won 2nd Place Award at 2023 Mechanical Engineering Pi-Minute Thesis (Pi-MT) Presentation Competition, Clemson University.

Oct 16th - Sternberg et al. Measured mechanical properties of bio-based polyamides. Generated physical and mechanical data of new polymer systems (Link)
